Most people think about liposuction as a kind of weight loss solution. In some ways that’s true, but there’s so much more to liposuction than a simple weight loss plan. Liposuction is, in fact, more about contouring your body, sculpting it to look the way you’ve always wanted. Diet and exercise don’t always do the trick, and your body has a habit of storing away stubborn areas of fat in unsightly places.

There’s a lot to learn about liposuction procedures, and that’s one of the reasons we’re here! Towards that end, we’ve offered further information in the following areas:

  • Surgical Liposuction: Most liposuction procedures are performed surgically, although that doesn’t mean they’re all performed in the same way. There’s a lot to learn about surgical liposuction procedures and what they have to offer patients. In most cases, however, even surgical liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure, with only a small incision. However, recovery time can be somewhat protracted depending on the area treated.
  • Non Surgical Lipo Alternatives: For patients who aren’t necessarily a good fit for surgical liposuction, there are non surgical options. In some cases, the best choice will be a procedure called Coolsculpting, which actually uses intense cold to freeze fat cells. In other cases, the a new injectable called Kybella–specially designed to eliminate the fat that composes the so-called “double-chin”–might be the best option.
  • Liposuction Costs: Because most plastic surgery is elective by nature, many people are curious to know the costs of these procedures before they invest too much time researching the procedure. For a good number of patients, cost is a very real concern and, therefore, worth spending some time to think about.
  • Liposuction Recovery: Once you’ve gotten your liposuction performed, you’ll likely have to spend some time recuperating from your procedure. Depending on your specific procedure, this could mean taking it easy for a week or keep an eye on swelling for the first month. The more you know about liposuction recovery, the better equipped you’ll be to handle your recuperation!
