Modern Lipo

Summary: Treat twice the fat in half the time by now, CoolSculpting® has become a top name in nonsurgical body contouring. Women and men across the country have had the procedure to treat unwanted fat on many areas of the body, including the abdomen, hips and thighs. And the treatment continues to get rave reviews from many patients, with a high “Worth It” rating on the popular cosmetic enhancement site RealSelf.

But did you know that there is actually an advanced CoolSculpting method that can deliver excellent results with less total treatment time? It’s known as DualSculpting™ and only a few select practices offering CoolSculpting® also perform this technique.

What Is DualSculpting™?

As the name implies, DualSculpting™ uses two CoolSculpting® devices to treat two areas of the body simultaneously. For instance, using this technique a patient would be able to have “love handles” on both the left and right side of her body treated at the same time, rather than having to treat one side for an hour and then the other side for an additional hour.

An Easier Treatment Process

It’s pretty obvious that using two CoolSculpting® devices during treatment will decrease total treatment time. Because each treatment device is only about the size of a hand and each treatment takes an hour, treating two more areas could become tedious and time consuming for the patient. DualSculpting™ can cut treatment time in half making the process more enjoyable and allowing patients to get back to their other activities sooner.

Candidates for DualSculpting™

Not all areas that can be treated with CoolSculpting® are appropriate for the DualSculpting™ method. For people who only want to treat a single area, such as the abdomen, the CoolSculpting® device cannot be “doubled up” to reduce treatment time. But people who want to treat two distinct areas of unwanted fat may benefit from DualSculpting™. Like CoolSculpting®, the DualSculpting™ method is appropriate only for “regular” sized areas of unwanted fat – larger areas may be treated more successfully with liposuction.

Pairing DualSculpting™ and the CoolFit Applicator

The company that produces CoolSculpting® recently introduced a specially designed applicator known as the CoolFit, which is designed to address certain areas that were harder to treat with the standard applicator along with more extended areas of fat. The DualSculpting™ method can be paired with this applicator for targeted treatment of the inner and outer thighs or other areas of the body that may be harder to treat.

More about CoolSculpting®

Developed by Harvard scientists, CoolSculpting® is designed to treat areas of fat that do not respond to a healthy diet and regular exercise. While these fat deposits can be treated with liposuction, lipo is a surgical procedure that involves incisions, downtime, and a recovery process. CoolSculpting® is a completely non-invasive treatment approach that uses cooling technology to encourage treated fat cells to die off. It does not destroy surrounding healthy tissue or involve invasive tools such as knives, needles, or vacuum hoses.  In addition to FDA approved applications for the abdomen, hips and thighs, practitioners are able to perform the treatment where it is effective for other areas of the body, including the lower back, knees, thighs and arms.
