fat mitigation

Knowing how to get rid of fat without surgery can be a challenge. Liposuction is one of the most effective body contouring procedures available today. But there are some non invasive body contouring procedures that are beginning to offer Liposuction’s effectiveness. If you want to know more about these ways to get rid of fat without surgery, you’ve come to the right place, because that’s what we’re discussing today!

There are several ways to get rid of fat without surgery, each with their own benefits and drawbacks. That doesn’t mean that any single procedure is necessarily better than the others. It simply means that each patient is going to have various options open to them in order to achieve their desired results.

How to Get Rid of Fat Without Surgery

When it comes to selectively eliminating stubborn areas of fat, most people start looking at the prospect of liposuction. Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure–but it’s still surgical. A small incision is made in the target area and a cannula is moved back and forth to suction away the fat. Recovery usually takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks (mostly on account of the swelling afterwards).

Understandably, there are some people who wish to avoid the experience and the expense of surgical liposuction altogether. But they still want to eliminate some of those stubborn areas of fat and slim down a little bit. That’s when knowing your options for how to get rid of fat without surgery starts to come in handy. Because you do have a few options.

One of the most commonly employed non invasive body contouring procedures is called Kybella. And it’s also, by far, one of the easiest body contouring procedures on the planet. All you have to do is go in and receive a quick injection. That’s right–Kybella is an injectable body contouring solution.

Composed of a chemical that breaks down fat, called deoxycholic acid, Kybella is really a synthetic form of something already found in your body (it’s a bit more complicated than that, of course, but that’s the general idea). Right now, Kybella is only approved for use around the submental area of the face–so it’s a perfect solution for eliminating a double chin that’s been bothering you.

There are some drawbacks to Kybella. It takes a few weeks for you to see results. And while it works well for most people, there are a few patients who seem to resist treatment. Even still, an injection that melts away fat is a pretty compelling option for getting rid of fat without surgery

If you want to get rid of fat from somewhere that’s not your jawline, Kybella might not be the best option for you. But that doesn’t mean you’re back to thinking about Liposuction. It just means that you might start thinking about Coolsculpting.

You’ve probably heard of Coolsculpting because of the novel way that it treats fat–with intense cold! This technique works because your skin cells have a much higher threshold for cold than your fat cells do; so the only thing affected by the cold in Coolsculpting are the fat cells just beneath the surface.

The cold forces the fat cells in your body to break down. And that, in turn, causes you to slim down a bit. Coolsculpting is great for treating larger areas of the body. Not everyone responds to treatment in the same way, and it can take several weeks for you to see your results. But modern Coolsculpting methods can usually generate some pretty striking results for patients who wish to get rid of fat without surgery.

Why Not Undergo Liposuction?

Of course, if there are drawbacks and uncertainties involved with Coolsculpting and Kybella, why not get liposuction in the first place? That’s a reasonable question, and I think there are a couple of answers that make sense.

First, liposuction can have a pretty substantial recovery period–you could be limited in your activities for a couple of weeks. Kybella and Coolsculpting both typically allow patients to return to normal activities immediately. Second, not everyone is a great fit for liposuction or surgery generally speaking. And if you aren’t a good fit for liposuction, you might be a better fit for Coolsculpting or Kybella.

At the end of the day, there are plenty of reasons to avoid liposuction if you aren’t so inclined to pursue a surgical procedure. In those cases, Coolsculpting and Kybella make excellent possible alternatives.

The Right Way to Get Rid of Fat

Kybella and Coolsculpting are typically able to produce pretty subtle results. And that’s just perfect for some patients. After all, body contouring procedures are all about finding the right procedure for you, your body, and your desired final results. The best way to get rid of fat without surgery is the way that works for you.
